Oron is a flowering plant that grows wild all over Thirith, but mostly in the temperate climes. While much is known about its amazing properties, there are likely many secrets still waiting to be discovered.
Oron flowers serve as a powerful healing agent, making short work of even the most brutal wounds. Skilled alchemists all over Thirith work the plant into its various forms, imparting their own expert touch to the products, but generally, the properties listed below are relevant throughout the realms:
1. Rubbing against a fresh wound: A fresh or dried oron flower rubbed directly onto an open wound recently sustained will heal 1 HP. This can only be done once per flower, but the flower can still be eaten as detailed below.
2. Eating a flower: Flowers consumed fresh or dried in their whole form will heal 1d3 HP of damage.
3. Concentrated powder: In this form prepared by an alchemist, the potency remains unless the powder becomes wet. When rubbed on any wound, it will heal 1d4 HP. Five flowers are required to make this powder.
4. Salve: Salves require 10 flowers to be made and must be rubbed onto fresh, open wounds. Salves heal 1d8 HP of damage. Depending on the alchemist, each salve may contain 2 doses.
5. Balm: Balms are the most potent of all products produced from the oron. Balms require 20 flowers to create, and must be bound over any wound using some form of bandage. Balms heal 1d12 HP of damage.
