Toth
Toth is the quintessential frontier town. It has grown little over the years since its founding, mainly due to the rough life its inhabitants commit to. Toth’s strong wall and even stronger citizens protect it from regular orc invasions from the south. The mettle of her citizens has kept Toth from being wiped off the map. Lumber, farming and fishing are the most common trades in Toth. Her farms are owned and worked by the whole community, producing the finest Pluap fruit in New America. Wheat, corn, onions, and tomatoes are the other common crops. In the town square there stands an ancient statue in honor of Roebin Lorcksley, the founder of Toth. Legend says that Roebin traveled from the north to this spot where the river forks, stopping at the spring that now sprouts out of a fountain across from his statue. He single handedly drove off the orcs occupying the area before founding a settlement and establishing the first onion fields in the dark earth across the river.
Leader: Burgomeiser Gus Cruikshank.
Gus has held his elected position of Burgomeiser for 6 years. He is a fair and just leader, well-liked by the citizens of Toth. A man of about 45 years old, Gus sports a short graying beard and long hair that he keeps tied back. Gus walks the town and farms all day long, speaking to citizens and addressing issues in person as they arise. In the event of an orc raid, he still leads the militia from the front, wielding his two curved scimitars effectively.
Important Figures:
1. Cytryn: Cytryn the Ranger is the fiercest warrior in all of Toth. Recently, she has become obsessed with a secret quest. Many of the townspeople believe that she is losing her mind due to her obsession. Cytryn’s only concern is the safety and security of Toth. Stats: AC 1, HP 21/38, Thaco 17, Dmg longsword+3, 1d8+3/1d12+3, 10 oron salves. Chain Mail +3
2. Waran Decbas: Waran is the current keeper of the crops and animals of Toth. He ensures that any work overlooked by the citizens is assigned as necessary. He is the primary care giver for all of the farm animals and livestock.
3. Teeter: Teeter is a scraggly young man who wanders in from his frontier farm occasionally to trade pelts and apples for tomatoes and meat. Though there are other privately owned farms surrounding Toth, Teeter does not associate with them and is seen as more of a wanderer than a landed working man.
Important Locations:
1. Ned’s Tavern: The only inn with lodging in this small burg. It is known for a fine honey wine crafted in small batches annually.
2. Watchtower: The most prominent feature from afar is the town’s wooden watchtower. It is constantly manned as a lookout post for orcs or any other threats.
3. Watermill and Docks: Toth shipping, though limited, is centered here.
4. Town Hall: all public business takes place at this formidable town hall which also serves as the headquarters for the town militia. It is a strong stone building that can house the entire town in times of fierce attacks.
5. Cytryn’s House: The ranger Cytryn resides here outside the walls.
6. The Meiser’s House: whoever holds the position is provided with this comfortable mansion for the duration of their time in service.
7. The Bow and Buckle: this tavern serves as the meeting place for the farmers and other workers after long days in the fields. It can be quite rowdy at times.
8. Roebin Lorcksley Statue: the second most prominent feature of the town. This statue towers over 30’ tall. It is kept in pristine condition. To even touch the statue without permission or need is considered the highest affront in Toth. Roebin is rumored to be buried under its footing.
