Mesrop
Mesrop is an isolated, small village located south east of Nethon along the southern shore of Grandish. No roads or even trails lead to this tiny hamlet. All trade and travel is done by boat, for the residents of this town, their unique canoes carved from single trunks of palm trees. Legend has it that the insular residents of the town are refugees from a land far to the south across the sea. They are tall, light skinned, and red headed, features not shared by any of the native Grandishians. Their language, known by the same name as the town, is alien and unrelated to Grandisha. They fiercely guard its secrets. As such, none even within the royal court have learned it. It is unknown if her residents speak Grandisha as only one representative at any given time is allowed to interact with outsiders and the court. When called upon, Mesrop’s warriors serve fiercely in defense of Grandish’s causes. They are loyal to the king even while remaining outsiders by choice. All of her men are trained as vicious knife fighters. Mesrop’s people only use bows for hunting. Leader: Tala Formalu serves as the current diplomat for the town. As with all other residents, little is known about him.
Important Figures:
1. Samala Fu-Vala: Outsiders believe this heroic warrior is the de-facto leader of Mesrop’s forces whenever they are called to serve, but even this cannot be fully confirmed.
Important Locations:
1. Lookout Tower: The people of the village have maintained the wooden tower for decades, possibly even centuries. Its full purpose is unknown, but it is oriented overlooking the southern sea, possibly to spot any further refugees fleeing the unknown lands to the south.
2. Meeting Hall: This community building serves many purposes to the people of Mesrop. It is the only building outsiders are allowed to enter or sleep in when welcomed into the village.
3. Farms and Canals: The people of Mesrop are experts at maintaining canals to bring fresh water from the jungle into their little village for farming purposes.
4. Temple: The largest building in Mesrop serves as a temple to their unknown deity. Outsiders are never allowed inside. By order of the king, any outsider who enters without permission is subject to execution by the people of the village.
