Clan Rumblefish
Clan Rumblefish is one of the ancient Dwarven kingdoms located east of the Abbolith Mountains which have lived in isolation since the cataclysm. Prior to that great event, Clan Rumblefish traded their fine metals and forged masterpieces throughout the known world with humans, elves, and dwarves alike.
Since the cataclysm, the approximately 1.2 million dwarves of Clan Rumblefish has mostly kept to themselves, only dealing with their neighboring relatives. Their very existence was little more than myth to the human settlements west of the Abbolith Mountains (In dwarven: Andtur Mondr), though infrequent encounters between the two societies have been rumored over the decades.
Clan Rumblefish’s animal masters train superb fighting companions, which each major stronghold specializing in a particular beast.
The Clan has fiercely protected The Tomb of the Book for centuries, with elders insisting it must never be opened. Locked within are rumored to be the secrets of the old gods. At least, that is, according to the dwarves. Recently, a massive storm cracked the entrance leading to the revelation of some of its secrets. The massive stone door has since been repaired and the tomb resealed.
Leader: Tigrim Rumblefish is the current leader of the clan. A fifth-generation ruler, his family has held the throne since before the cataclysm, which is why Tigrim enjoys such strong support. Tigrim is a fierce warrior of legendary strength. Even in his advancing age, he leads his clan from the front against every threat, every expedition, every new mine breaking. Tigrim’s longtime desire for contact with the humans has paid off recently with the establishment of a dwarven presence in Mountainhome.
Important Figures:
1. Emmisar General Zahkran Hammerbrow: General Hammerbrow is a high-born general of the Rumblefish clan’s military. He currently leads the nearly 100 strong dwarven force working with the humans in Mountainhome. He is shrewd but friendly, knowing full well that his misison with the humans will set the tone of the two peoples’ relationship for generations.
2. Bragosh Knucklecraker: Gruff, mean, tough and sturdy, Bragosh is the king’s champion, head of the court’s own guard and protector of the Tomb of the Book. In this role, he assigns all guards and is responsible for its security.
3. Caldahk, Paladin of Cromdahk: Caldahk has only recently returned from his journey over the mountains where he was involved in the quest to destroy The Being. In doing so, he brought back the word of Cromdahk and has been working to reestablish The Order of the Solemns.
4. Montagh Lighthammer: Montagh is the Chief Forger of Clan Rumblefish and likely the best in the entire world. There is no metal he cannot work, no item that he cannot forge. None come close to his superior skill at the anvil.
Important Locations:
1. Rumblefish: This city, located at the foot of Mount Krasmoog is the capital of the clan. The court resides here year-round. The city’s animal masters breed the finest war ponies.
2. Khag Boldihr: This city is the northmost of Clan Rumblefish, tucked deep into the mountains near the Giant Kingdom. Her animal masters raise wolf hybrids of a fierce nature. Khag Boldihr is also where nearly endless silver veins penetrate the mountains.
3. Gurum: Gurum lies within sight of Rumblefish, located only 20 miles away high on Mount Krasmoog’s slopes. Here iron ore is plentiful and strong. Boars, violent yet controllable, are trained here.
4. Thineldur: This city is the clan’s most southern, located in the dark mountains of the range known as Mondr Bloch (Black Mountains). It is within striking distance of the human settlement of Mountainhome, and therefore the nearest communication between the two races. Thineldur’s animal masters breed vicious pygmy bulls on the lush plains below the city.
